Why is he called 'inspirational'. He had a terrible medical emergency leaving him paralysed but he is perfectly capable of doing surgery. Many surgeons SIT for surgery . Is it so unbelievable that a disabled wheelchair user can be a surgeon that they call him inspirational?
If we all realised the potential in EVERY disabled person there would be hundreds of disabled surgeons but many are not taken on to train and therefore we don't see them that often!
I don't see him as 'inspirational' I see him as a man 'gone back to work'.
Quit all this emotional crap.
A disabled woman challenges the 'status quo' in Ireland. This blog was started to highlight inequality, abuse and injustice in the lives of disabled people. The wooden spoon was given to me when I graduated (PhD) as I'm known to 'stir up' and get things done. I'm still stirring from my wheelchair...Justice for disabled people demands we 'stir-up' complacency, injustice, inequality lack of services, and scapegoating . Disabled people deserve rights not charity! "Nothing about me without me!"

one way of looking at this being, many disabled are sitting around feeling they can do nothing, this is a fine indicator that all is possible and if you want something badly enough, you will find a way...but for this reason is it not inspirational?
