disabled people deserve good competent judges on the bench.  Able to face and understand disability hatred and homophobic attacks.  This sentence for Stephen's simpson's murder was derisory and insulting.  It only increases hate crime not diminishes it.

When will health providers begin to grasp the reality that disabled people and their families actually WANT THEM TO LIVE!

As a disabled person I am beginning to note the attitude of providers who are NOT pushing out the boat to make my life 'worth living'.

This story is simply one of many repeated throughout the UK and Ireland and I suspect throughout the world.

Mea Maxima Culpa | From Academy Award Winning director, Alex Gibney

Mea Maxima Culpa | From Academy Award Winning director, Alex Gibney

A film that HAS to be seen.  The abuse of Deaf Boys at a deaf school in Wisconsin. The most damning documentary I've ever seen.  an epic of 'Truth Telling & Confrontation' .

It explores the cover up of abuse over decades by the Vatican .  It does not only cover the abuse of the Deaf boys but skilfully documents the machinery of corruption in the Catholic Church which came from the Vatican .

I blame the media for their constant references to benefit 'scroungers' and Cameron's disability cuts which gives only one message....disabled people are 'draining the economy'.

no wonder we are entering a new era of a Nazi - like mentality.

“I had to tell my dad he was going to die, because he wasn’t given a sign language interpreter” | The Limping Chicken

There are some things children should not be asked to do, even if adult.  This is one of them.  Deaf adults deserve privacy, dignity and respect with communication between them and doctors with a proper interpreter.

Sexual assault rife in psychiatric hospitals: report | ABC Radio Australia

Sexual assault rife in psychiatric hospitals: report | ABC Radio Australia

We do not take this seriously enough as we don't believe 'mentally ill' women.  Truth is most women in psychiatric hospitals are there because of male violence!  and then are further abused by male patients or staff.  Research into re-abuse points a definite finger at childhood abuse victims being targeted AGAIN as adult.

My clergy sexual abuse doctorate found that once clergy offenders knew a woman's history they were easy prey!   Same applies in our psy system.

KEEP WOMEN OUT OF THESE PLACES.

Disability Rights: Cornish Councillor Colin Brewer Compares Disabled Children To Deformed Lambs

this man was re-elected after the storm when he said disabled children should be 'put down' , now he's comparing them to 'deformed' lambs!

he is a disgrace to humanity.  we are certainly moving away from humanity and in the future we will see euthanasia because these messages act at a subliminal level depositing ideas that grow.

Hey folk...come on board, become a member of this blog and get actively discussing.  especially those of us in Ireland where we rarely publically challenge anything around disability!

News stories from the UK and around the world surely must make us think about what is happening in Ireland

1) we have no hate crime laws against disabled people
2) doesn't seem to be any special help in courts for learning disabled people to give evidence (I might be wrong)
3) cuts to benefits to disabled people increasing isolation, loneliness poverty and an underclass of vulnerable people.
4) we haven't yet ratified the UN convention on the rights of disabled people. (one of only 3 countries in Europe not to)

and so it goes on....

we must discuss and highlight

welcome aboard.

This is Ireland.  I note how she recognises to quote "it seems they will not give me permission to die but will not help me to live either".  She is referring to all the cut backs to disability help.  She's right!
