Caring for hospital patients - Letters | The Irish Times - Tue, Apr 30, 2013
our health service is crumbling. our vulnerable citizens are taking the brunt of it. this is eugenics in all but name
A disabled woman challenges the 'status quo' in Ireland. This blog was started to highlight inequality, abuse and injustice in the lives of disabled people. The wooden spoon was given to me when I graduated (PhD) as I'm known to 'stir up' and get things done. I'm still stirring from my wheelchair...Justice for disabled people demands we 'stir-up' complacency, injustice, inequality lack of services, and scapegoating . Disabled people deserve rights not charity! "Nothing about me without me!"

Why does this merit a newspapers attention when a doctor says it but when the patients and their families say no one pays any attention unless we sue ?
ReplyDeletethat's a very good question. it tends to be that 'Dr' in front of your name carries more clout. I'm afraid this happens to me but the 'Dr' in front of my name is not a medical Dr. Surely a concern is a concern no matter the person who raises it!
