Column: Last year’s multi-million euro underspend in mental health is unacceptable
why? why was the money not spent and where is it now?
A disabled woman challenges the 'status quo' in Ireland. This blog was started to highlight inequality, abuse and injustice in the lives of disabled people. The wooden spoon was given to me when I graduated (PhD) as I'm known to 'stir up' and get things done. I'm still stirring from my wheelchair...Justice for disabled people demands we 'stir-up' complacency, injustice, inequality lack of services, and scapegoating . Disabled people deserve rights not charity! "Nothing about me without me!"

they view or consider or have a perception that those who suffer in the 'head department' should not have a head at all.
ReplyDeletehow they justify it is anyones guess, my guess is, that the many who do have mental illness, psychological distress are incurable nuts and so the money put in is a waste.
it isnt actually, far from it. it does depend how that money is spent, but preserving a healthy mind will preserve a happy and optimistic country.
we are all depressed right now, and money is not helping - EXACTLY! we need to spend that money we do have allocated to mental health on, mental health or healthy heads. i rather like the wordage 'healthy heads' for mental nutcases are few and far between.
