A disabled woman challenges the 'status quo' in Ireland. This blog was started to highlight inequality, abuse and injustice in the lives of disabled people. The wooden spoon was given to me when I graduated (PhD) as I'm known to 'stir up' and get things done. I'm still stirring from my wheelchair...Justice for disabled people demands we 'stir-up' complacency, injustice, inequality lack of services, and scapegoating . Disabled people deserve rights not charity! "Nothing about me without me!"

Speaking of children tied to their beds. . . the Unitarian Universalist Association of Congregations recently sent me a cease and desist demand on Stikeman Elliott letterhead, and signed by Montréal lawyer Maitre Marc-André Coulombe, which brazenly accuses me of the archaic crime of blasphemous libel for allegedly making "unfounded and vicious allegations to the effect that ministers of the Association engage in such despicable crimes as pedophilia and rape". The only problem is that the comparatively few allegations that I have made regarding rape committed by Unitarian Universalist clergy are by no means unfounded. Most ironically, I had not even specifically accused a U*U minister of the despicable crime of pedophilia, which does not mean to say that I am not ready, willing, and able to do so on very well-founded grounds and will almost certainly do so as part of my response to this shameful UUA legal intimidation which seeks to "memory hole" existing The Emerson Avenger blog posts and prevent me from writing brand-spanking new ones.
