'Generic Drugs' Republic of Ireland'

a discussion on the Parkinson's Ireland site raises huge issues about drugs prescribed in Ireland.  A woman with Parkinson's declares she now gets a 'generic' (cheaper) version of her drug which is causing havoc with her.  Another woman gives a possible explanation
" Usually it's the binder/inactive ingredients that are of inferior quality to the original brand. This causes particular problems in drugs that are required to cross the blood brain barrier. The drug needs to 'decompose' at just the right moment in its journey"
This means we need to be absolutely clear that we sick people will NOT take 'generics' if they are having a bad effect on our conditions.  we are NOT , apparently, obliged to take the generics and can demand the drug prescribed by our doctor.

Irish mother and daughter dead in suspected murder-suicide in Spain

Irish mother and daughter dead in suspected murder-suicide in Spain

This is terrible news.  Questions need to be asked.  Such headlines just tell people that the couple were despairing over their daughter who had Down Syndrome.  The word 'tragic' makes I seem like a sad event (which of course it is) but understandable....which it is NOT!

The questions I'd like to ask are:

  • Which of the adult parent did the killing?
  • Was it a 'pact' or did Mother & child not know it was going to happen?
  • what help were the parents getting?
It is NEVER OK to kill a disabled child or adult.  These cases only promote the view that disability is a tragedy and that the child/adult has caused such a terrible burden this is the only way out.

Society at present is hell bent in conveying that disabled people are expensive, scroungers and demanding and exhausting.  This leads everyone to believe it'd be best if we died.

This is NOT a 'tragic' case...(per se) this is MURDER and should be viewed in the context that every life is valuable .  It also shows that society is NOT willing to support people who have any kind of difficulty or difference.  We are in an age of eugenics.

Disability Benefit Changes To Lead To Shock £31 Million Cut In Carers' Benefits

UK news...is there no end to the savagery of the Cameron Gov.  You would NEVER think he had a disabled child!   Perhaps he's doing this because he thinks disabled children/adults are a 'waste' of resources!

A disgraceful way to treat families and another example of how UNPROFESSIONAL the HSE management is and how the HSE as a health structure just does not work
